Some activities that you can do on your stay in Esmond

*Hunting– From September to December, Esmond is a prime hunting location. We have hunters coming here from all over the country.

*Fishing– We have many fishermen in Esmond, however, you will need to drive to Devils Lake, Goose Lake, or Antelope Lake.

*Golf– If you like golf, Maddock has a sand green coarse. Rugby and Harvey each have a very nice grass green golf coarse. All are within a 40 minute drive (max.) from Esmond.

*Boating/Watersports – Buffalo Lake Recreation Area is a perfect getaway for a weekend of water sports.

*Camping– Buffalo Lake and the Esmond “Randy Marthe Memorial Park” are perfect for a camping trip.

*Bicycling – Hwy. 19 is on the national cross country bicycle route.

*Hiking – Esmond is a small and very scenic town. Named “The Evergreen City” for its surrounding evergreen fields, it is an excellent place to go for a nice relaxing walk.

*Snowmobiling– Esmond has snowmobilers and offers some great areas to snowmobile. Local snowmobilers host a couple of poker runs each winter.

*Cross Country Skiing
– We haven’t had a lot of cross country skiers, but those who have, have enjoyed the scenery.

*Winter Sled Riding– Buffalo Lake and Geotz’s Hill (south end of Esmond) offer very good sledding areas for the kids.

*Esmond Cafe – The Esmond Cafe has customers coming from all corners of the county. Great food and more! Stop by for coffee and conversation.

*Esmond Bar
– The Esmond Bar offers pool, a dart board, cards and dice, as well as several beverage choices and good conversation with the locals. The bar also hosts various activities throughout the year. If you’re hungry and the cafe is closed, you can also get a snack at the bar.

*Randy Marthe Park – The park has picnic tables, swings, playground equipment and a basketball court.

*City Tennis Courts/BB Courts – It offers an outdoor basketball court and tennis.

*Church– Esmond has three churches: Catholic, Lutheran and Evangelical.

*Mens Club Demolition Derby
– The Esmond Men’s Club Demolition Derby has the reputation as one of the best in the state. Check YouTube tab for video clips of past derbies. It is usually held the second Saturday of July in conjunction with aStreet Dance. It also has a reputation of bringing in great crowds.

*Esmond Alumni Reunion
– There are a number of activities organized for the Annual Alumni weekend to go along with the Men’s Club Demolition Derby. There is the Friday night Pork BBQ, Saturday a Pancake/Sausage breakfast, Ice Cream Social, Silent Auction, evening entertainment with the CoEd Softball Tournament taking place on Sunday morning. This year is the Esmond All School Reunion so there is much more going on including a parade on Saturday morning, a memorial run, crowning of the King of Esmond, music and bands throughout the weekend and much more. *Schools:
Most of the Esmond students attend school in Maddock or Harvey and a few that live NW of Esmond attend school in Rugby. Click the school to get info.
